It is difficult to rough-in a basement toilet by just reading text without some toilet diagrams, measurements and sketches. Below you will find three diagrams that will help you visualize what is involved in roughing for a basement toilet. Keep in mind that these fixture locations may vary slightly. You might have to change some things such as the distance and angles of the drain pipes to fit your situation. You’re better off to draw a sketch of your own rough-in plan with the measurements and fixture locations so you can show them to your local plumbing inspector.
